Exfoliation 'key to making face glow' in compact mirror

If you want a brand new look for the new year, the best thing to aim for is a brand-new glow for your skin, according to a leading online magazine.

To get an inner glow resonating through your face and skin, the Philippine Star told women to exfoliate before anything else. "Your skin will only look lit from within if you do not have layers of dead skin cells," it explained. "Try to exfoliate twice a week."

If the person going for the new look is still keen to use a make-up base, this should be thinned out with several drops of moisturiser to undermine any possibility of it looking "cakey", it added.

Finally, dabbing illuminating lotion on the upper corners of the cheekbones, alongside the brow bones and inner corner of eyes, will "look great on anyone", the Star concluded.
