Electric eyeliner is 'great new trend' for compact mirrors
15 December 2010 12:01
Despite brightly-coloured eyeliners shocking many onlookers on the Spring 2011 runways, it is proving to be one trend that could easily work in compact mirrors without "looking completely kooky".
Such is the view of Allure, which has been experimenting with the newest make-up offerings in time for spring. It said that it was "delighted to find that some of the craziest shades can work even when pulled off the catwalk".
Allure beauty director Amy Keller Laird was immediately struck by how well lime green eye pencils worked, despite being initially sceptical, and asserted that it "brought attention to her eyes in an unexpected way".
Meanwhile, electric cobalt was also praised as an eye-catching alternative to black. Such shades, the magazine continued, are not appropriate for work but can definitely be fun for the weekend.
It follows makeup maintenance tips from Skin Inc. It explained that ladies will be busy on a daily basis with social gatherings, so maintenance with make-up ought to be at the top of their minds.
